Optics are used to focus the created laser beam onto the workpiece, effectively cutting it by melting, vaporizing, or burning through it. They typically have a tolerance of 0.2 to 0.1 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-21fa68b7-3179-4c2b-81a5-1c1a66224a9f\">Benefits and Limitations of Laser Cutting<\/h2>\n\n\n<p id=\"block-354f7772-dcdc-4528-9cd8-35268a994695\">Because of the high precision of laser cutting, minimal finishing is required for laser cut parts. Laser systems create a small heat-affected zone, reducing the need for post-processing heat treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-66f652f7-706b-45c8-942e-f511aa3ab996\">Compared to other cutting processes, laser cutting is more precise and versatile (material wise) than plasma cutting but less than waterjet cutting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-5a79f328-a3d4-4635-aa34-039093cb9bc9\">Laser cutting is the most widely used because of its material versatility, precision, and ability to carry out both cutting and engraving (a process that cannot be done with waterjet).
