La MJF, con sus propiedades isotr\u00f3picas y una resoluci\u00f3n de impresi\u00f3n ligeramente superior, es ideal para piezas funcionales m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as. SLS, que ofrece una gama m\u00e1s amplia de materiales y mayores vol\u00famenes de construcci\u00f3n, es m\u00e1s adecuado para prototipos visuales y piezas funcionales de tama\u00f1o medio. En este proceso, un l\u00e1ser de CO2 fusiona selectivamente el polvo pl\u00e1stico trazando cada secci\u00f3n transversal de la pieza, capa por capa. Consiste en un proceso de varios pasos en el que se extiende una fina capa de polvo en el lecho de impresi\u00f3n y se calienta justo por debajo de su punto de sinterizaci\u00f3n. La tecnolog\u00eda SLS tambi\u00e9n es capaz de imprimir con Nylon relleno de carbono y aluminio, y las m\u00e1quinas SLS especializadas de alta temperatura, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eos.info\/en-us\/polymer-solutions\/polymer-materials\/high-performance#ht-23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">como las de EOS<\/a>, pueden trabajar con termopl\u00e1sticos de ingenier\u00eda como el PEEK. El SLS tambi\u00e9n es compatible con variantes de PA 11 y PA 12 aptas para alimentos, adem\u00e1s de un material de PA 12 con clasificaci\u00f3n UL 94 V-0 (PA 2210 FR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cambio, MJF se limita actualmente a menos materiales, principalmente Nylon 12, Nylon 11 y TPU. Sin embargo, MJF tambi\u00e9n ofrece Nylon 12 con opciones como una variante con un 40% de carga de vidrio para mejorar la resistencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La siguiente tabla compara los materiales MJF requiere el mismo tiempo por capa que el de SLS, en el que el tiempo por capa viene dictado por la complejidad de la secci\u00f3n transversal que debe escanear el l\u00e1ser. En t\u00e9rminos netos, las construcciones de MJF son m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas que las de SLS y los resultados destacan en la producci\u00f3n de piezas en serie, ya que se pueden intercambiar m\u00e1s construcciones por m\u00e1quina que con SLS. Ambos procesos permiten que los lechos de impresi\u00f3n se enfr\u00eden fuera de la m\u00e1quina, con un tiempo de enfriamiento que suele requerir entre 10 y 20 horas, en funci\u00f3n de la densidad de anidado. Mientras se enfr\u00eda una estructura, puede insertarse una nueva en la m\u00e1quina para iniciar una nueva construcci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanto en las operaciones de SLS como de MJF, se recomiendan tres bastidores para cada m\u00e1quina: uno est\u00e1 imprimiendo, otro enfriando y otro tiene las piezas enfriadas separadas para su procesamiento. Esta configuraci\u00f3n permite la mejor utilizaci\u00f3n de la m\u00e1quina con poco tiempo de inactividad.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-volumen-de-impresion\"><strong><strong>Volumen de impresi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Las m\u00e1quinas SLS pueden producir piezas con vol\u00famenes de construcci\u00f3n mayores (hasta 550 x 550 x 750 mm) en comparaci\u00f3n con la impresi\u00f3n MJF (hasta 380 x 284 x 380 mm). Pero en ambos casos, no se recomienda fabricar piezas tan grandes como el \u00e1rea de construcci\u00f3n disponible, ya que esto puede crear condiciones t\u00e9rmicas que pueden afectar a la pieza (alabeo, torsi\u00f3n, encogimiento, etc.) y aumentar el riesgo de fallos de construcci\u00f3n (pelado\/desgarro del recubrimiento).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para maximizar la eficacia de la impresi\u00f3n SLS, es fundamental utilizar todo el volumen de construcci\u00f3n, ya que el proceso permite un reciclado m\u00ednimo del polvo (el 80% del polvo recuperado de las piezas impresas con MJF es reciclable, en comparaci\u00f3n con el SLS, que lo es en un 30-50%).<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-coste-de-la-mjf-frente-al-sls\"><strong><strong>Coste de la MJF frente al SLS<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Utilizando un dise\u00f1o de pieza (v\u00e9ase el archivo CAD) como modelo de prueba, hemos evaluado los precios de las tecnolog\u00edas de impresi\u00f3n 3D MJF y SLS con PA 12 (gris) utilizando nuestro Generador de Presupuestos Instant\u00e1neos de Xometry. Los resultados indicaron que SLS es aproximadamente un 20% m\u00e1s caro para la producci\u00f3n de una sola unidad, pero SLS y MJF tienen costes similares cuando se ampl\u00edan.
