D\u00e9cadas despu\u00e9s, hice realidad ese sue\u00f1o. Lotti lleva ya ocho a\u00f1os con nosotros, aport\u00e1ndonos tanto alegr\u00edas como retos.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-el-reto-de-restaurar-clasicos-modernos\"><strong>El reto de restaurar cl\u00e1sicos modernos<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Poseer un cl\u00e1sico moderno como el Elan SE conlleva una serie de obst\u00e1culos, especialmente cuando se trata de conseguir piezas. Aunque muchos componentes se produjeron en serie y siguen siendo accesibles, un n\u00famero significativo de piezas espec\u00edficas del modelo se han vuelto escasas o ya no est\u00e1n disponibles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un buen ejemplo son las juntas de puertas, ventanas y capotas. Aunque algunos han sido reproducidos en peque\u00f1os lotes por especialistas, la mayor\u00eda est\u00e1n fuera de producci\u00f3n. Los herrajes originales no eran especialmente eficaces, y los procesos de fabricaci\u00f3n que se utilizaban para fabricarlos han quedado obsoletos. \u00a1La impresi\u00f3n 3D al rescate!<\/p>\n\n\n id=\"h-sustitucion-de-las-juntas-de-las-puertas-con-impresion-3d\"><strong>Sustituci\u00f3n de las juntas de las puertas con impresi\u00f3n 3D<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>En Lotti, la junta de la puerta del lado del acompa\u00f1ante segu\u00eda intacta, con un n\u00facleo esponjoso y un revestimiento exterior de pl\u00e1stico. Sin embargo, la junta del lado del conductor se hab\u00eda desintegrado por completo. Un entusiasta me ayud\u00f3 a conseguir juntas a medida para la puerta, pero algunas zonas, sobre todo la parte superior y la trasera, segu\u00edan necesitando atenci\u00f3n. Vi potencial en el uso de TPU (poliuretano termopl\u00e1stico) para este proyecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A falta de planos, el flujo de trabajo que adopt\u00e9 fue dise\u00f1ar las piezas de repuesto desde cero e imprimirlas en casa con materiales de TPU. Una vez finalizado el dise\u00f1o, recurr\u00ed a Xometry en busca de servicios de fabricaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s avanzados para producir juntas precisas y duraderas con un acabado superior.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mejorar-el-diseno-original\"><strong>Mejorar el dise\u00f1o original<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Curiosamente, el dise\u00f1o original del sello no cumpl\u00eda plenamente su prop\u00f3sito. Mi nuevo dise\u00f1o evita estas deficiencias al tiempo que permite la personalizaci\u00f3n. He dividido la junta en tres partes para adaptarla a las limitaciones de la impresi\u00f3n 3D dom\u00e9stica. Este enfoque modular tambi\u00e9n beneficia a otros propietarios de Elan, ya que cada coche var\u00eda ligeramente y las piezas pueden adaptarse sin necesidad de redise\u00f1arlas por completo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las piezas ilustradas a continuaci\u00f3n demuestran el ajuste con el embellecedor de la ventanilla y el embellecedor de la puerta trasera. Xometry produjo estos componentes utilizando TPU y el proceso de Sinterizaci\u00f3n Selectiva por L\u00e1ser (SLS). Tengo previsto probar iteraciones adicionales y producir piezas utilizando el proceso HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) de Xometry para obtener un acabado a\u00fan mejor. Mi objetivo es conseguir un acabado lo m\u00e1s parecido posible al de las juntas originales, con la flexibilidad suficiente para que sean resistentes a la intemperie. Tambi\u00e9n hay otros elementos de las juntas que se est\u00e1n desgastando, as\u00ed que el siguiente paso ser\u00e1 estudiar la mejor forma de sustituirlos.<\/p>\n\n\n    <section montaje del Elan. Una pieza se atornilla al extremo de la puerta, otra interact\u00faa con la junta exterior de la puerta y la tercera cubre el hueco interior de la tarjeta de la puerta.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mostrando-la-innovacion-la-impresion-3d-en-el-nec-classic-car-show\"><strong>Mostrando la innovaci\u00f3n: la impresi\u00f3n 3D en el NEC Classic Car Show<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>El Elan con piezas prototipo se expuso en el stand del Lotus Drivers Club en la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necclassicmotorshow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exposici\u00f3n de coches cl\u00e1sicos del NEC<\/a>, Birmingham, en noviembre de 2024. La impresi\u00f3n 3D de piezas gener\u00f3 una gran expectaci\u00f3n y fue interesante escuchar algunos comentarios de la industria automovil\u00edstica sobre su uso en la fabricaci\u00f3n
