Cependant, le syst\u00e8me de jauge suit une \u00e9chelle diff\u00e9rente qui n&rsquo;est pas lin\u00e9aire. Les jauges \u00e0 m\u00e9taux sont des num\u00e9ros standards obtenus en mesurant l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur d&rsquo;une t\u00f4lerie par rapport \u00e0 son poids par pied au carr\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-systeme-de-jauge-pour-tolerie\"><strong>Syst\u00e8me de jauge pour t\u00f4lerie<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence des syst\u00e8mes de mesure m\u00e9triques standards, pour lesquels l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de t\u00f4lerie est indiqu\u00e9e directement en mm, les num\u00e9ros de jauges repr\u00e9sentent l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur en fonction de l&rsquo;historique des op\u00e9rations de dessins. Cela signifie qu&rsquo; un num\u00e9ro de jauge faible correspond \u00e0 une t\u00f4lerie plus \u00e9paisse, tandis qu&rsquo; un num\u00e9ro plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 indique une t\u00f4lerie plus fine. Par exemple, une t\u00f4lerie avec un num\u00e9ro de jauge de 3 a une \u00e9paisseur d&rsquo;environ 6,07&nbsp;mm (0,2391&nbsp;pouces), tandis qu&rsquo;une t\u00f4lerie avec un num\u00e9ro de jauge de 38 a une \u00e9paisseur de seulement 0,15&nbsp;mm (0,0060&nbsp;pouces). Dans de nombreuses r\u00e9gions, une t\u00f4lerie d&rsquo;une \u00e9paisseur sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 6 mm est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une plaque plut\u00f4t que comme une t\u00f4le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diff\u00e9rentes jauges de t\u00f4lerie sont recommand\u00e9es pour des applications sp\u00e9cifiques. Choisissez-les judicieusement pendant la phase de design. Par exemple, une t\u00f4lerie de 10 ga (3,4&nbsp;mm ou 0,1345 pouces) serait id\u00e9ale pour des applications \u00e0 usage intensif, telles que des composants structurels.<\/p>\n\n\n    <aside Une jauge plus \u00e9paisse ne signifie pas que la t\u00f4lerie est plus r\u00e9sistante \u00e0 la corrosion.
