Nous avons d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il est possible de les d\u00e9velopper avec des ressources minimales, m\u00eame dans des laboratoires amateurs ou des hackerspaces. Notre objectif ultime est de produire des conceptions et des prototypes fonctionnels de batteries \u00e0 flux, sous licence open-source permettant une utilisation commerciale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour y parvenir, il est essentiel de tester avec pr\u00e9cision les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s intrins\u00e8ques de ces batteries \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle. C&rsquo;est pourquoi nous avons cr\u00e9\u00e9 un kit de d\u00e9veloppement, facilitant des tests reproductibles pour la recherche et l&rsquo;enseignement.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-des-hackerspaces-aux-pieces-de-haute-precision-concevoir-une-batterie-a-flux-open-source\"><strong>Des hackerspaces aux pi\u00e8ces de haute pr\u00e9cision : concevoir une batterie \u00e0 flux open-source<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Notre \u00e9quipe s&rsquo;est initialement rencontr\u00e9e en ligne, en d\u00e9couvrant mutuellement nos blogs, bien que nous vivions dans diff\u00e9rents pays europ\u00e9ens. Notre processus de d\u00e9veloppement est donc g\u00e9ographiquement r\u00e9parti : je con\u00e7ois des pi\u00e8ces en France, Josh les fabrique au laboratoire de Lili aux Pays-Bas, puis les envoie \u00e0 Daniel en Espagne pour des tests exp\u00e9rimentaux. Cette approche a bien fonctionn\u00e9 pour les premiers prototypes r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en impression 3D FDM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous souhaitions d\u00e9velopper un kit de batterie \u00e0 flux abordable, facile \u00e0 fabriquer et dont les composants sont ais\u00e9ment disponibles. Une innovation cl\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 la conception d&rsquo;une cellule utilisant du joint en graphite bon march\u00e9 et accessible comme collecteur de courant, en remplacement des plaques bipolaires plus co\u00fbteuses et difficiles \u00e0 obtenir. Au-del\u00e0 de la cellule et de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectrolyte, nous avons \u00e9galement voulu d\u00e9velopper et partager en open-source l&rsquo;ensemble du syst\u00e8me : pompes, tuyauterie, r\u00e9servoirs, gabarits, \u00e9lectronique de puissance, etc. Les d\u00e9tails sont cruciaux, et nous souhaitions proposer un syst\u00e8me complet pour abaisser autant que possible les barri\u00e8res \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La version initiale de notre cellule n\u00e9cessitait des pi\u00e8ces usin\u00e9es en polypropyl\u00e8ne. Nous avons essay\u00e9 l&rsquo;impression 3D FDM, mais les pi\u00e8ces manquaient de pr\u00e9cision dimensionnelle et de rigidit\u00e9, et les impressions en r\u00e9sine n&rsquo;\u00e9taient pas Nous visions la production de 10 kits complets, ce qui n\u00e9cessitait 20 corps de cellules usin\u00e9s en un temps restreint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&rsquo;est l\u00e0 qu&rsquo;intervient Xometry. En tant que chercheurs, notre expertise r\u00e9side dans la recherche, pas dans la fabrication ! Pour certaines applications, les pi\u00e8ces usin\u00e9es sont indispensables, et nous nous sommes tourn\u00e9s vers Xometry pour produire ces composants pour notre atelier. Nous n&rsquo;\u00e9tions pas en mesure de produire des pi\u00e8ces en polypropyl\u00e8ne suffisamment rigides et \u00e9tanches avec l&rsquo;impression 3D FDM, et l&rsquo;impression en r\u00e9sine SLA ne donnait pas non plus les r\u00e9sultats escompt\u00e9s. Les \u00e9lectrolytes charg\u00e9s que nous utilisons pour les tests, incluant des esp\u00e8ces triiodures, r\u00e9agissent avec d&rsquo;autres mat\u00e9riaux FDM comme l&rsquo;ABS, habituellement stable en milieu acide. Ainsi, une fois la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie et l&rsquo;approche de notre cellule valid\u00e9es, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de les usiner \u00e0 partir de polypropyl\u00e8ne massif. La seule modification n\u00e9cessaire \u00e9tait d&rsquo;ajouter des trous taraud\u00e9s pour installer des raccords cannel\u00e9s disponibles dans le commerce, car cette g\u00e9om\u00e9trie n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;usinage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous avons re\u00e7u les pi\u00e8ces \u00e0 temps pour l&rsquo;atelier et leur assemblage sur place s&rsquo;est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 sans probl\u00e8me. progress\u00e9 vers une version am\u00e9lior\u00e9e du kit, simplifiant quelque peu le processus de fabrication. Nous n&rsquo;avons plus besoin de pi\u00e8ces en plastique usin\u00e9es, mais certains composants m\u00e9talliques n\u00e9cessitent encore une fabrication par usinage soustractif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En tant que d\u00e9veloppeurs de mat\u00e9riel open-source, nous envions la facilit\u00e9 avec laquelle les d\u00e9veloppeurs de logiciels peuvent cloner un d\u00e9p\u00f4t et contribuer. Les ing\u00e9nieurs concevant des circuits imprim\u00e9s disposent d\u00e9sormais d&rsquo;outils open-source standardis\u00e9s comme KiCAD et d&rsquo;un large \u00e9ventail de fabricants offrant des d\u00e9lais rapides, r\u00e9duisant les barri\u00e8res au d\u00e9veloppement et raccourcissant les cycles d&rsquo;it\u00e9ration pour les projets bas\u00e9s sur des PCB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec les services de fabrication num\u00e9rique et les outils de CAO m\u00e9canique open-source comme FreeCAD, il sera plus facile que jamais pour une communaut\u00e9 mondiale de d\u00e9velopper et tester des pi\u00e8ces personnalis\u00e9es. Lorsque l&rsquo;impression 3D ne suffit pas, des projets comme le n\u00f4tre peuvent ralentir ou s&rsquo;arr\u00eater en raison du goulot d&rsquo;\u00e9tranglement li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s physique \u00e0 un atelier \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&rsquo;outils conventionnels et de machinistes comp\u00e9tents.
