Seule une petite fraction d\u2019entre nous demeure incapable de se passer de livres ou de journaux imprim\u00e9s, et leur nombre est en diminution constante. Les liseuses \u00e9lectroniques, sans parler des ordinateurs, nous rapprochent toujours plus d\u2019un monde sans papier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour les personnes malvoyantes qui ne peuvent pas lire les caract\u00e8res imprim\u00e9s, les technologies de synth\u00e8se vocale, aujourd\u2019hui largement utilis\u00e9es sur les appareils mobiles et les ordinateurs personnels, permettent de palier \u00e0 ce handicap. L\u2019alphab\u00e9tisation est cependant la pierre angulaire de l\u2019\u00e9ducation et, sans elle, une personne verra sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 communiqu\u00e9 restreinte, sans parler de son acc\u00e8s au savoir, aux donn\u00e9es et \u00e0 l\u2019apprentissage qui sera s\u00e9v\u00e8rement limit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est l\u00e0 qu\u2019une invention vieille de 190 ans entre en jeu : l\u2019\u00e9criture en braille. Louis Braille utilisait des feuilles de papier sur lesquelles on faisait ressortir des points en reliefs, selon des motifs que l\u2019on pouvait lire avec les doigts. Cette invention a depuis \u00e9t\u00e9 modernis\u00e9e, avec l\u2019apparition de dispositifs sp\u00e9cifiques dot\u00e9s d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de rafra\u00eechissement, capables d\u2019afficher le braille sur une bande de plastique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des tiges pouvant se mouvoir verticalement et formant de fait les m\u00eame motifs que Louis Braille utilisait jadis sur papier mais\u2026 Sans papier. C\u2019est ce genre de dispositif que Harpo, localis\u00e9 \u00e0 Pozna\u0144, en Pologne, d\u00e9veloppe et fabrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand on consid\u00e8re les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, il appara\u00eet que l\u2019apprentissage de la lecture et de l\u2019\u00e9criture se fait habituellement (et \u00e0 raison) sur papier. Ceci concerne aussi bien les enfants voyants que les malvoyants, les premiers apprenant les caract\u00e8res d\u2019imprimerie et les seconds apprenant le braille. Durant le processus d\u2019apprentissage, il est capital que les enfants puissent eux-m\u00eames griffonner, faire des essais, se tromper et assimiler toute une batterie de nouveaux concepts (qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019un mot, une phrase, un paragraphe, une ligne de texte, une page \u00e9crite, etc\u2026). Les jeunes apprenants doivent assimiler ces nouveaux concepts, r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes et finalement, dans le monde d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, interagir avec un dispositif \u00e9lectronique. Tout ceci est rendu possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un appareil unique fabriqu\u00e9 par Harpo depuis 2010 : l\u2019embosseuse \u00e0 braille Mountbatten.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mountbatten-brailler-tutor\"><strong>Mountbatten Brailler Tutor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>C\u2019est en 2016 que l\u2019\u00e9quipe dirigeante de Harpo prend la d\u00e9cision de concevoir une nouvelle version du dispositif&nbsp;: l\u2019embosseuse \u00e9ducative Mountbatten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette nouvelle machine comporte un grand nombre de pi\u00e8ces mobiles, plusieurs moteurs et de nombreux capteurs pour permettre un affichage correct des points sur une feuille de papier. En un mot comme en cent, il s\u2019agit d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce de tr\u00e8s haute pr\u00e9cision (au microm\u00e8tre pr\u00e8s).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les pi\u00e8ces m\u00e9caniques n\u00e9cessaires sont fabriqu\u00e9es au moyen de diff\u00e9rentes technologies : certaines sont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9es par moulage \u00e0 injection avec des mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9cents, d\u2019autres sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par fraisage CNC, d\u2019autres encore au tour CNC ou par des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de t\u00f4lerie. En raison du volume de production r\u00e9duit et des variations anticip\u00e9es, l\u2019enceinte de l\u2019appareil est con\u00e7ue par thermoformage assortis d\u2019un fraisage sur 5 axes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le plus grand d\u00e9fis rencontr\u00e9 par les ing\u00e9nieurs m\u00e9canique de Harpo a \u00e9t\u00e9 la transition depuis le concept industriel original vers la conception m\u00e9canique des diff\u00e9rentes pi\u00e8ces. Cela a n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 l\u2019appui d\u2019un fournisseur fiable et de bon conseil quant au processus de fabrication en lui-m\u00eame. Apr\u00e8s avoir contact\u00e9 diff\u00e9rentes entreprises, Harpo a finalement jet\u00e9 son d\u00e9volu sur Xometry comme partenaire strat\u00e9gique.
