Afin de r\u00e9aliser cet objectif ambitieux, une \u00e9quipe interdisciplinaire de 25 \u00e9tudiants et professeurs forment alors une avant-garde d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019innovation des sports de course \u00e9lectriques. En plus de la course, qui reste leur premi\u00e8re cible,&nbsp; Warwick Moto permet \u00e9galement \u00e0 de jeunes ing\u00e9nieurs de faire leurs premi\u00e8res armes dans un environnement plus industriel, avec l\u2019objectif secondaire de faire monter en comp\u00e9tence les ing\u00e9nieurs issus de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Warwick et de les exposer au monde de l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie r\u00e9elle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leur moto, baptis\u00e9e \u00ab&nbsp;Aurora&nbsp;\u00bb, a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue autour d\u2019un ch\u00e2ssis de moto de course bien connu pour son excellente maniabilit\u00e9. L\u2019\u00e9quipe a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un ensemble de syst\u00e8mes \u00e9lectriques \u00e0 la pointe de la technologie, qu\u2019ils ont ensuite impl\u00e9ment\u00e9 sur leur moto de course, une solution qui pr\u00e9sente de nombreuses innovations, parmi lesquelles une batterie refroidie par immersion et un sous-ch\u00e2ssis original dont les d\u00e9tails sont donn\u00e9s dans le pr\u00e9sent article. Rapidement, il est apparu que le sous-ch\u00e2ssis original de la moto utilis\u00e9e (en gros, l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 se situe le si\u00e8ge du pilote) n\u00e9cessitait d\u2019\u00eatre retravaill\u00e9 afin de faciliter l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019un onduleur. Le choix d\u2019op\u00e9rer cette modification a \u00e9t\u00e9 pouss\u00e9 par les contraintes m\u00e9caniques de place, et s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 encore plus d\u00e9licat en raison de la pand\u00e9mie de Covid-19, \u00e0 cause de laquelle l\u2019acc\u00e8s de l\u2019\u00e9quipe aux infrastructures d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie de WMG (Universit\u00e9 de Warwick) \u00e9tait restreint. Cons\u00e9quemment \u00e0 cela, Warwick Moto a eu recours \u00e0 Xometry, plateforme de fabrication industrielle \u00e0 la demande, dont l\u2019assistance en termes de capacit\u00e9s de production, d\u2019expertise technique et de mat\u00e9riaux a permis la r\u00e9alisation d\u2019un sous-ch\u00e2ssis satisfaisant \u00e0 tous les crit\u00e8res techniques, nombreux et complexes.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depuis les premi\u00e8res \u00e9bauches du concept jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fabrication, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a travaill\u00e9 sans rel\u00e2che sur ce sous-ch\u00e2ssis. Deux \u00e9tudiants ing\u00e9nieurs de premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e, Nesta Ferguson et Aneesh Jois, ont men\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9tape de conception, en consultation avec le reste de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et les professeurs encadrants, tout cela au travers de Microsoft Teams. Plus de 100 concepts pr\u00e9liminaires ont vu le jour au cours d\u2019une p\u00e9riode de 6 mois, sans cesse revus et optimis\u00e9s alors m\u00eame que l\u2019\u00e9quipe voyait s\u2019affiner ses comp\u00e9tences en CAD. Le point culminant fut la fabrication finale du tout premier sous-ch\u00e2ssis en tubes de carbone, avec des n\u0153uds d\u2019aluminium, capable \u00e0 la fois d\u2019accueillir un onduleur et de conserver un poids raisonnable dans l\u2019optique d\u2019une course de vitesse. <strong>Le r\u00e9sultat est un sous-ch\u00e2ssis pr\u00e9sentant un poids encore jamais vu de 1,3 kg, soit environ 1,5 kg de moins qu\u2019un produit \u00e9quivalent sur l\u2019\u00e9tag\u00e8re.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-design-brief\"><strong><strong>Le concept en quelques mots<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Le cycle de conception du sous-ch\u00e2ssis a consist\u00e9 avant tout \u00e0 formaliser diff\u00e9rents concepts int\u00e9grant toutes les contraintes m\u00e9caniques, puis \u00e0 les faire \u00e9voluer et valider it\u00e9rativement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la m\u00e9thode d\u2019analyse par \u00e9l\u00e9ments finis (Finite Element Analysis, ou FEA en anglais). L\u2019entreprise Rockwest Composite a apport\u00e9 son aide aux \u00e9tudiants dans le choix des tubes en fibres de carbone, leurs exigences en termes de liaison et les possibilit\u00e9s offertes par chaque mat\u00e9riau. Les analyses par FEA, qui consistaient \u00e0 simuler les conditions extr\u00eames d\u2019une course gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un jeu de cas de charge, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 conduites de fa\u00e7on intensive tout au long de la phase de conception, afin d\u2019identifier les points faibles qui \u00e9taient ensuite am\u00e9lior\u00e9s \u00e0 chaque it\u00e9ration. La r\u00e9alisation du produit fini n\u2019aurait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 possible sans l\u2019apport de Xometry sur la faisabilit\u00e9 des n\u0153uds et le savoir de Rockwest Composite sur les assemblages de pi\u00e8ces en carbone. Les capacit\u00e9s de pointe de Xometry en termes de fabrication industrielle, en particulier <a href=\"https:\/\/xometry.eu\/fr\/usinage-cnc\/\">l\u2019usinage sur 5 axes<\/a>, ont garanti que ce concept innovant de sous-ch\u00e2ssis puisse \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 son plein potentiel. Bien que la pand\u00e9mie en question ait mis \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat nombres de t\u00e2ches planifi\u00e9es, l\u2019\u00e9quipe parvient malgr\u00e9 tout \u00e0 faire avancer et la conception et la fabrication de leur moto \u00e9lectrique depuis leurs domiciles, gr\u00e2ce aux outils de communication virtuelle. L\u2019\u00e9quipe a mis \u00e0 profit un nombre consid\u00e9rable d\u2019heures pass\u00e9es sous Microsoft Teams pour mener \u00e0 bien les modifications n\u00e9cessaires de cet \u00e9l\u00e9ment structurel critique. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Xometry a \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de fournir une assistance virtuelle pratique qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 la cl\u00e9 du succ\u00e8s dans la r\u00e9alisation de ce produit. Ne restent en effet que quelques pi\u00e8ces de moindre importance. Pour 2021, leur objectif sera de commencer la fabrication et l\u2019assemblage de tous les composants, afin de pouvoir commencer les premiers essais au cours des prochains mois (en accord avec les directives li\u00e9es au Covid-19). Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur exp\u00e9rience glan\u00e9e au cours du d\u00e9veloppement du sous-ch\u00e2ssis, ils sont en ce moment m\u00eame en train de concevoir et de simuler d\u2019autres composants. Xometry continue \u00e0 leur apporter son support dans le cadre du refroidissement par immersion de leur batterie, et une coop\u00e9ration continue avec d\u2019autres partenaires industriels permettra
