A single manufacturing technology does not fit all the applications and use cases. Some technologies are much suited for end-part production while some are ideal for prototyping. Some are cheap and produce low-quality parts while others are costly and produce high-quality parts. Every customer’s requirement is different so are manufacturing technologies
Is a metal or a plastic part needed? Should the part be functional or is it a prototype? How many parts are needed? Is the design complex? Should the part be readily usable or does it need a post-processing treatment? These are the fundamental questions one must ask oneself before choosing a manufacturing process.
