Adjustable brackets for 30 mm tubing - MJF PA12 vs CNC POM for strength and stability?
I’m developing a set of adjustable brackets to secure 30 mm diameter aluminum tubing in a display frame. Each bracket will have a split collar design with an M6 through-bolt for clamping and needs to maintain grip under ~2 kN axial load without damaging the tube surface. Parts will be used indoors but exposed to occasional humidity changes. Batch size will be around 100–150 pcs, and tolerances on the bore are ±0.1 mm. Would MJF with PA12 (possibly glass-filled) be a good option here, or would CNC-machined POM or another engineering plastic be better for long-term dimensional stability?
