Description:

Alumide® is a metallic gray, aluminum-filled polyamide 12 powder renowned for its high rigidity, metallic appearance, and versatile post-processing options. Parts made from Alumide® exhibit excellent dimensional stability at high temperatures, making them suitable for functional applications in elevated heat environments. Its surfaces can be easily finished through grinding, polishing, or coating, while the chip-breaking effect of the aluminum filling simplifies machining processes.

  • Bead blasting

    Depowdering of parts with bead blasting. The final parts are slightly grainy in the touch with a satin-like matte appearance.

    Notes:

    Semi-sintered surface particles remain on the part even after initial depowdering.

    Media tumbling

    This is a batch-based process that tumbles vibrating media to remove sharp edges and burrs on machined parts. Tumbling can remove machine marks on exterior surfaces creating a more uniform appearance.

    Parts over 20 cm (8”) may require a manual review.

    Final result:

    • Smooth in the touch
    • Satin-like matte appearance
