Hello! Recently, I’ve been refining some precision features like thread depth, fillet dimensions, and flat-bottomed drilled holes to enhance manufacturability. It got me thinking—what’s your favorite underutilized DFM trick that makes a big difference in your designs or just brings a bit of satisfaction when you apply it? One of my favorites is using circular relief cuts in the corners of square pockets or keyed features. It’s a great way to get around the fact that sharp corners aren’t machinable. Not only does it follow DFM best practices, but it also ensures that mating parts fit perfectly. I love seeing this trick used because it’s simple and effective, especially when designing for CNC machining. If you’re working on tight tolerances, this method can be a lifesaver!

1. Product Photography: Angle: The piece should appear as the protagonist of the story. Use low angles to give prestige, or very close angles (Macro) to show the quality of finishing, welds and gears. Lighting: Use sharp lighting on metal edges to highlight their shine and strength. 2. 3D illustrations (3D Rendering): The piece can be displayed as it disassembles (Exploded view) to show all internal components accurately.
