It got me thinking—what’s your favorite underutilized DFM trick that makes a big difference in your designs or just brings a bit of satisfaction when you apply it? One of my favorites is using circular relief cuts in the corners of square pockets or keyed features. It’s a great way to get around the fact that sharp corners aren’t machinable. Not only does it follow DFM best practices, but it also ensures that mating parts fit perfectly. I love seeing this trick used because it’s simple and effective, especially when designing for CNC machining. If you’re working on tight tolerances, this method can be a lifesaver!
