Request for Material Information for Trumpet Mouthpiece

Good day. I have a trumpet mouthpiece that I have modeled myself using FreeCAD, which I need to print. I conducted a small research and Google suggests using PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified) as a material. I noticed that among the materials you work with, it’s possible to print with polyethylene, although it’s not exactly straightforward, as it involves working on millimeters and even less. What would you recommend? Would you be capable of doing it, if necessary? I await your reply. Thank you. Marco

      Hi Marco!

Depending on the geometry of your part, we might be able to produce it in 3D printing or CNC machining.

On 3D Printing we have only PETG as a polyethylene material

On CNC machining we offer HDPE and UHMW PE as a polyethylene material.

To offer pure PE, it is only available in Injection moulding process, which is only viable for very high quantity.

Please upload your part on our platform, so we can look at it and decide the best solutions for your project.

    • Hi Marco,

      Interesting custom trumpet mouthpiece project.
Just a suggestion: Apart from 3D printing with PETG, CNC machining solid PETG blank can offer far better surface smoothness and stable dimensional accuracy, which performs better for a trumpet mouthpiece.

Polyethylene is not ideal for this precision part.
If you are open to CNC manufacturing solutions, please visit our site:

You may send your FreeCAD model to us for checking.

      Best,
