What Is PolyJet? How Does It Work?

PolyJet 3D printing technology is known for its exceptional precision and ability to produce multi-material and multi-color parts. PolyJet technology exclusively uses photopolymers which allows the parts to instantly solidify when exposed to UV light.

The process begins with the printer’s inkjet nozzles depositing tiny droplets of resin in precise locations. Simultaneously, a UV light cures the resin, solidifying the layer before the next one is applied. Support structures, made from a gel-like material, are also printed as needed to enable the creation of overhangs and complex geometries. These supports are removed after printing, leaving a smooth, detailed surface.
